Did you know?
At 50 km/h, an unrestrained 30kg dog can generate 750kg of force. Containment alone is not protection. Our dog crate is tested at 50 km/h with forces up to 25x the dog's bodyweight.

Dog crate FAQ
Find answers to common questions about our dog crates.
The Small (73.5 × 54.5 × 54.4 cm) suits dogs up to 17 kg - roughly Cocker Spaniel to Border Collie.
The Medium (83.5 × 68 × 66 cm) suits dogs up to 40 kg, including Labradors, Retrievers and German Shepherds.
Your dog should be able to stand, turn and lie down comfortably - but not have so much space they are thrown around in transit.
The crate is designed to fit most hatchbacks, estate cars, and SUVs. We recommend checking the product dimensions against your boot space before purchasing using our size guide.
Crate Lifter - raises the crate 7 cm on four clip-on legs, no tools required. Useful if your boot's loading sill prevents the door from opening fully.
Dog Ramp - a TÜV-tested telescopic ramp, extending from 69 to 160 cm, and supports up to 100kg with an anti-slip surface.
Weight varies by size, the small crate weighs 13.7kg, and the medium weighs 20kg.
The crate is designed to be manageable for one person (depending on size), and lighter than heavy-duty professional crates.
The crate comes with a 2-year manufacturer warranty.
Yes. The Travall Dog Crate has been independently tested and certified by TÜV SÜD, the same safety authority trusted for child car seats.
TÜV certification means the crate has been:
- tested by an independent third party (not the manufacturer)
- assessed against automotive safety standards
- verified for crash performance, structural integrity, and safety features.
Dog guard - a barrier behind the rear seats that keeps your dog secured in the boot and out of the passenger cabin.
Boot divider - attached to the guard and splits the boot into sections, typically to separate your dog from luggage or give a smaller dog a defined space within a larger boot.
Tailgate system - fits to the divider and prevents your dog jumping out when the boot is opened.
Dog Crate - A crash-tested crate creates a secure, enclosed space for your dog in the boot. The right size crate can also help ease travel anxiety by providing a familiar, den-like space that promotes a sense of security.
The Guard, Divider and Tailgate solution is great for those who have larger dogs, crate-resistant dogs, more than one dog, or want to give their dog a defined area and keep the rest of the boot usable for bags, pushchairs or shopping.
Typically 30–60 minutes. It is straightforward with basic tools - clear instructions are included.
The crate is secured using included straps attached to your vehicle’s tie-down points. Using these straps is important for safety.
The crate uses a rotary locking system, here’s how it works:
- close the door
- turn the handle
- the lock engages securely into the frame.
The locking system is tested as part of the TÜV certification, ensuring the door remains closed under impact and your dog stays safely inside.
