We previously announced that we’d be supporting Makants Greyhound Rescue N.W by gifting every adopter in April (Adopt a Greyhound Month) a Travall Dog Guard. We will be continuing our support by donating 1% of UK sales to Makants from April 16^th – 30^th 2026!

Makants are a volunteer run rescue and rely on the kindness and generosity of others to be able to rehabilitate and rehome ex racing greyhounds. Donations from our customers' orders will play a vital role in helping Makants continue the incredible work that they do!

Here’s a little more about Makants:

‘Makants Greyhound Rescue, a small self-funded and independent greyhound re-homing charity, was formed in December 2013 by Siobhan Hoppley and is based in Tyldesley,  Greater Manchester. We can accommodate up to 21 greyhounds in our kennels on Mort Lane and, over the years we have been in operation, have successfully homed just over 740 ex-racing greyhounds.

Once greyhounds leave racing, charities such as ourselves step in and provide love and care, with the long term aim of finding homes for many of these wonderful dogs. All our hounds spend time in our ‘home from home’ enrichment room which is equipped with many household items such as a washing machine, tumble dryer and T.V. This helps them become used to everyday noises and situations and helps with their transition process from a racing greyhound to a pet greyhound.

We have an excellent volunteer team who assist with re-homing checks, fundraising, administration duties including social media, kennel cleaning and daily dog walking. Our fundraisers work tirelessly in all weathers each weekend all year round to raise funds for the rescue. We insist on home checks and ensure all our dogs are neutered/spayed, vaccinated and chipped prior to being re-homed - and this is where the vast majority of funds raised are spent.’
